Arête
2021
A collection of Akram Fadl’s latest representational artworks. Comprised of the artist’s personal preferences of subjects that are close to him. Arête referring to excellence
in Ancient Greek scriptures is more than just a concept.
It is something that we as individuals should strive for, in all aspects of life.
We have been confined by our limitations, especially when we are exercising the freedom to create, express and reflect on both internal thoughts and external life experiences.
When it comes to realism, the process of creation shifts and shapes up differently as opposed to abstract art.
We become more critical of our expressions, more judgmental & less forgiving. These reflections can hinder the flow of our imagination and the ability to fully surrender to the process.
“We are meant for expansion, to explore and evolve”.
